I'm really tired. We're now three hours behind Central in Alaska time and I've been up 19 hours. It was a long day of travel with about 8 hours of flight time and 3,421 miles from Austin to Houston to Anchorage. The flying went pretty smoothly except for Wes feeling a bit sick during both decents and of course the fact that we had a nearly 7 hour flight, ugh. We ended up spending over $100 on food today too between airport, airplane and dining out for dinner. We went to a place called Humpy's Great Alaskan Alehouse and it was okay. Wes had a local IPA called Moose's Tooth Faireweather (6.1%) and we ate halibut, white king salmon and king crab nuggets. We've settled into a nice bed and breakfast in the southern part of town and are looking forward to a good night's sleep before starting our road trip.
Big kudos to my sister and nephew who are staying at my apartment and cat-sitting Gavin.
We each have a duffle bag weighing in just under the 50 lb. limit.

Looking out across the Knit Arm of the Cook Inlet. No beach here, only mud flats.
